AI Baseline Sample Survey Ready for Feedback:
Team,
I started a rough framework for the Norcal SBDC AI Baseline Assessment Survey. We’re not locked into this question set, but I wanted to get the ball moving. Please look at the survey and be prepared to discuss in our August 5 meeting.
The survey contains 26 questions across 5 logical sections that flow naturally from:
personal baseline → current challenges → balanced perspectives → organizational readiness → future vision.
About You & Your Center (9 questions) – We start by learning who you are and whether you’ve tried AI tools. This helps us understand where everyone’s starting from.
Tasks & Opportunities (4 questions) – We ask about your biggest time-wasters at work. “What ONE repetitive task would you eliminate?” tells us where AI could actually help.
Attitudes, Concerns & Safeguards (5 questions) – What excites you about AI? What worries you? We explore both sides to understand real concerns about things like client privacy and accuracy.
Organizational Support & Training (6 questions) – Do you have time for training? Does your center support trying new things? This shows us what’s realistic for implementation.
Reflection – Optional (2 questions) – Share your ideas for pilot projects or how we’ll know if AI is actually helping small businesses.
Action Needed
Please review the survey by end of July and consider:
- Flow – Does the progression feel natural?
- Clarity – Any questions that could be misunderstood?
- Completeness – Missing anything critical for our pilot selection?
Drop your feedback in an email to me. (We’ll look at Slack later). We’ll incorporate final edits during our August 5 meeting before launching to all 18 centers.
Remember:
This baseline data will drive our network champion and training strategy.
Getting it right matters.
Thanks for making this initiative successful.
